Sail Boats

This is the watercolor I mentioned in my first blog. I had to take a few tries to get it to the point where i was satisfied but in the end it worked out to my advantage.

I struggled with the dilution of the colors and the way the colors blend together-later to find I was using a brush that wasn't as compatible with watercolor as it was with acrylic. I read this book to help me with the techniques I had forgot.

I hadn't done a landscape since I was in the sixth grade and only decided to do one because of the nagging of my grandparents. They weren't keen on my nudes.

I am working on a painting of Medusa, the ancient Greek siren who turned anyone to stone when they'd look at her, her features were so beautiful it made it hard not to.... I'm pretty pumped about the outcome. It's the largest painting I've done that's not a mural.

AIDS awareness

This piece was inspired by an old episode of Beverly Hills 90210. In this episode Kelly volunteered at an AIDS hospice and met a homosexual young man who struggled with AIDS. He had only one partner but his partner was not as faithful. The young man passed away in a later episode.
This piqued my interest in researching the AIDS and HIV virus. 20,993 people have been reported with the virus in Canada in 2007. The number of new cases decreases annually.
This is painted with acrylic and detailed with felt tip pen. All my art work is for sale, if you're interested-feel free to contact me.
