Portraits

This is a portrait I painted of a close friend of mine. I had a picture of her from a long time ago while we were on a walk. I wanted to make a little twist on it so I made it more animated looking rather than realistic. This piece came before my "AID's awareness painting" and was the first of a few that I used this style of painting.

We went for a walk in the fall so I used the red/yellow color scheme and incorporated a leafless branch. Behind my house, I have a beautiful field with a breath taking forest looking out onto the horizon. In the original picture she had found a hammer and was sitting on a log, behind her a beautiful landscape.

This was done in acrylic and detailed with felt tip.
